Mugham concert held in Strasbourg on occasion of Novruz holiday

The Permanent Representation of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe, organized a mugham concert in Strasbourg on the occasion of Novruz holiday.
The concert, held in the ancient Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune church in the center of Strasbourg, brought together the Council of Europe officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, local community representatives and members of the Azerbaijani community.
Addressing the event, Fakhraddin Ismayilov, Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, informed the audience about Novruz holiday, as well as the cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that in 2010, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 21 as the International Day of Nowruz, adding that in 2016, Novruz was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The concert program featured numerous music pieces highlighting the Novruz holiday and the arrival of spring, performed by talented and famous Azerbaijani singers Ravana Gurbanova and Miralam Miralamov, accompanied by tar player Rovshan Gurbanov and kamancha player Togrul Asadullayev. The Azerbaijani mugham pieces received with much admiration and applause from the audience.
