An event marking the Day of Restoration of Azerbaijan’s Independence was held in Paris.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Leyla Abdullayeva highlighted the invaluable services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the history of Azerbaijani statehood, his historical role in preserving Azerbaijan’s independence and strengthening its statehood.

“The far-sighted and purposeful policy pursued by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is being continued and developed today by President Ilham Aliyev,” the diplomat added.

The ambassador underscored that Azerbaijan, which has restored its territorial integrity, is currently on the path of seeking lasting peace, adding, however, this path is not easy.

The event, graced by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Paris, members of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, representatives of culture and art, and local community, followed with a concert program.
