Azerbaijan to host “LAW & CLIMATE” international conference ahead of COP29

The Azerbaijan Judges' Union will organize an international conference entitled "LAW & CLIMATE" ahead of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The conference will be held in Baku this September.

The conference aims to draw the attention of the legal community towards the ongoing global climate change processes and raise awareness on the existing international and national legal regulatory instruments in this area.

The conference will feature panel discussions on various topics, including "The UN Framework convention on Climate Change: Kyoto, Doha, and Paris Agreements," "Climate Change and Human Rights: Challenges and Legal Regulation," "Judicial Approaches to Climate Change Disputes: National and International Perspectives" and "The Role of Environmental Crime in Achieving Climate Change Targets: International and National Contexts."

The dignitaries to present at the function will include the well-known climate change law specialists, representatives of international organizations, as well as judges, scientists and lawyers from various countries and Azerbaijan.
