The Azerbaijan Paralympic team roster for the Paris 2024 Paralympics will ultimately include three judokas.
Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on female fighters Khatira Ismiyeva (J1, +70kg) and Dursadaf Karimova (J2, +70kg) and male judoka Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +90kg).
Dursadaf Karimova and Ilham Zakiyev obtained the right to compete at Paris 2024 based on their position in the world ranking, while Khatira Ismiyeva gained the right to participate in the prestigious competition ("bipartite") based on the request sent by the National Paralympic Committee to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, set to be held on August 28-September 8, will include 23 sports and 549 events.
