Saudi Arabia’s authoritative Okaz newspaper has published an article highlighting the unilateral and temporary visa-free regime introduced for citizens of Saudi Arabia traveling to Azerbaijan.
The article hails this step taken by Azerbaijan as a logical continuation of the growing tourist flow, expanding economic relations, and strengthening investment cooperation between the two countries.
Along with several other states, citizens of Saudi Arabia are allowed to enter the Republic of Azerbaijan up to three times a year without a visa.
The new regulation, which entered into force on February 15, 2026, will remain valid until February 15, 2027. Under the updated rules, the duration of stay in Azerbaijan for each visit is up to 30 days. A valid visa will be required for any fourth entry within the same year.
In addition, foreign residents living in the Kingdom and holding a valid residence permit for at least six months will be able to obtain a single-entry tourist visa upon arrival at Azerbaijan’s international airports, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 30 days.
