Sahil Babayev, Azerbaijan`s Finance Minister, met with a delegation led by Anna Bordon, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in the country.
The meeting focused on macroeconomic and macrofiscal processes, taking place in the country, year-end and medium-term perspectives, initiatives and goals implemented in recent periods, as well as discussions related to the IMF Article IV Consultation mission scheduled for early next year.
Sahil Babayev highlighted the components of the macrofiscal framework for the next medium-term period, the main areas of revenue and expenditure policies, reforms implemented in public financial management and the expected outcomes.
The parties also exchanged views on the agenda of key fiscal policy reforms and possible IMF support for these reforms.
The sides hailed cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IMF.
Sahil Babayev emphasized that the government of Azerbaijan is interested in further enhancing cooperation.
The Minister noted that the technical assistance programs and advisory services provided by IMF have made a significant contribution to strengthening macroeconomic stability and fiscal management in the country.
