Helsinki hosts event to mark “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan
A cultural event entitled “Voices of the Land of Fire” was held on the Espan Lava stage in the center of Helsinki, the capital of Finland, to celebrate the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan.
The event was organized by Ulviyya Jabbarova, Head of the Azerbaijan House in Helsinki and Chairperson of the “Azer-Turk” Youth Organization. Hundreds of attendees—including local people, tourists, and guests from various cities in Norway, Latvia, and Finland—gathered to enjoy the celebration.
Representatives from the Turkish Embassy in Finland, as well as Turkish Ambassador to Finland Deniz Çakar and General Manager of Turkish Airlines for Finland Utku Yazan also attended the event.
Addressing the event, Ulviyya Jabbarova highlighted Azerbaijan`s constitution and the history of sovereignty. She also provided information about the mission and efforts of the Azerbaijan House.
The artistic portion of the event launched with a choreographic performance that showcased Azerbaijan’s national and cultural traditions. A special highlight was a national-style dance by Sevil Rannel, an Azerbaijani, living in Finland, which captured the audience’s interest.
The musical program featured a selection of Azerbaijani classical and contemporary pieces, performed by talented vocalist Orkhan Jalilov.
Another standout moment was a piano performance by Aydan Vazirova, a professional pianist and faculty member at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. She performed several Azerbaijani musical compositions that resonated deeply with the audience.
The event “Voices of the Land of Lights” served as an important platform for building bridges of culture and friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Europe, as well as promoting Azerbaijan`s rich culture in a wider geography.
