An Azerbaijani delegation led by Arif Aghayev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, participated in the China-Europe Railway Express Global Partners Forum in Xi'an, China.

The event focused on the theme the joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative project and the creation of the “China-Europe Express” economic ring.

The forum featured application of advantages of the China-Europe Express corridor, promotion of freight transport in this area, creation of high-efficiency, profitable and high-quality overland road connections for international trade, and acceleration of the construction of a modern international logistics system.

Addressing the forum, Deputy Chairman Arif Aghayev noted that Azerbaijan reviews China not only as a trade partner, but also as a reliable strategic ally. “This strategic partnership is of particular importance for transport and logistics cooperation,” he added.

The forum ended with a ceremony of signing document related to cooperation initiative on the construction of the China-Europe Railway Express Consolidation Center.
