Azerbaijan and Finland have the potential to expand cooperation in the water sector, a representative of the Finnish business mission, head of the research department at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences Mikko Lehtonen, told Report.
"I think we have one of the best technologies in the water sector in general in Finland for water purification and water treatment in general. So we have many possibilities to cooperate with Azerbaijan, to help Azerbaijan in these fields. On this trip, we have a Finnish Water Forum representative with us, who is an expert in this field. Actually, we are bringing also Azerbaijani companies to get to know our countries in April the next time and we hope that there are some water sector representatives from Azerbaijan who would like to visit us and get to know our companies," he noted.
He added that taking into account the successful holding of the COP29 climate conference in Baku, Finnish companies engaged in environmentally friendly technologies may be interested in operating in the Azerbaijani market: "After last year's COP, I think you have plans also for a greener future. And we have very many green technology companies in Finland. And they are really willing to cooperate and help you in many fields, I think."
