The Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference themed “One Nation, One Shared Destiny” held under the patronage of King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa kicked off on Wednesday in Manama, Bahrain.
The conference, organized by Al Azhar Al Sharif, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) in Bahrain, and the Muslim Council of Elders, is attended by Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, alongside Islamic scholars, religious leaders, intellectuals, and experts from across the Islamic world.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, met with Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, during the reception held in honor of the conference participants.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the King of Bahrain.
Anwar Ibrahim Malaysian Prime Minister, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha, Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif, Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Bahrain, Mohammed Abdulsalam, Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, former Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and a number of prominent religious, state and public figures of the Muslim world made opening remarks.
Addressing the event, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade emphasized that intra-Islamic dialogue has been successfully established in Azerbaijan, adding that it yielded positive results. He also informed the conference participants about Azerbaijan’s exemplary model of interfaith understanding, saying: “Azerbaijan has a long history of co-existence of different religious confessions. Today, the independent country of Azerbaijan is a unique example of interfaith understanding and brotherhood.”
