December 12 marks the 21st anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's passing. As every year, the Azerbaijani people honor their visionary leader with deep respect through commemorative events held nationwide and abroad.
A memorial ceremony was also held at AZERTAC's administrative building. The event began with floral tributes laid before the National Leader’s bust, followed by a minute of silence in his honor.
Chairman of AZERTAC’s Board, Vugar Aliyev, addressed the ceremony, reflecting on Heydar Aliyev's unparalleled contributions to the nation and state. He stated: "Forever etched in our history, the National Leader returned to power at the people's call during a period when Azerbaijan faced the threat of civil war and the collapse of statehood. His return marked the beginning of a new era for our country."
The AZERTAC Chairman of Board emphasized that following National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s return, the stability prevailed in the country, with Azerbaijan entering a new phase of development. He noted that Azerbaijan had achieved stability and development thanks to the National Leader’s unparalleled services, courage, perseverance and tireless activity.
“Great efforts have been made to achieve this. The National Leader spared no effort to ensure that we live in comfortable and secure conditions, in a strong country that develops day by day. Today, Azerbaijan stands out as a powerful state not only in the region but also globally. We owe this progress to the far-sighted policies of our National Leader,” Vugar Aliyev noted.
He underscored that Azerbaijan had fully restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who is successfully implementing the political course defined by the National Leader.
Following the memorial ceremony, the AZERTAC employees visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute and lay flowers at the National Leader’s tomb.
They also put flowers at the grave of the National Leader’s wife, prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
