On the margins of the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) held in Baku, a series of meetings were conducted with representatives from international organizations and foreign states.

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Renson Mulele Ingonga, Director of the Public Prosecutions of Kenya, on September 29.

Aliyev noted that cooperation with Kenya within the Non-Aligned Movement has reached a high level, emphasizing the strong political ties between the two countries.

He highlighted the historical significance of hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan and acknowledged Kenya’s significant contributions to global climate efforts.

Reflecting on the Kenyan delegation's first visit to Azerbaijan in February, Aliyev discussed the importance of experience exchange and bilateral visits among prosecution staff in establishing robust connections between their respective prosecution services.

Ingonga praised the ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan’s prosecution system and the existing relationships between the two countries’ prosecution offices.

Following their discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to enhance legal cooperation and further strengthen the existing ties between Azerbaijan and Kenya.
