Transparency in reporting is essential to understanding and tracking collective progress in climate action, said Zulfiya Suleimenova, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Special Representative of the President on International Environmental Cooperation, during the High-Level Dialogue: Advancing Climate Transparency through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) in Baku, Report informs.
According to her, this will make a significant contribution to combating the consequences of global climate change.
"For Kazakhstan, the importance of accelerating measures to combat climate change became most obvious after the floods that occurred last spring. A significant part of our territory was under water, causing enormous damage to citizens and the country's economy as a whole," she said.
The advisor to the president also emphasized that Kazakhstan is currently in the process of preparing its semi-annual transparency report and plans to present it before the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku in November.
"We look forward to continuing our joint efforts and dialogue on this important platform and achieving strong results by COP29," she concluded.
