Azerbaijan’s MES explores plans to ensure fire safety ahead of COP29

The State Fire Control Service of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) held a consultation and discussed plans for ensuring reliable fire safety ahead of COP29, Report informs, citing the ministry.

The consultation aimed to ensure fire safety in the Sumgayit regional State Fire Control Department’s area, which includes important and potentially dangerous sites, as well as residential areas. The discussion also covered upcoming tasks and their solutions.

Attendees included employees of the State Fire Control Service, representatives from the Sumgayit City Executive Authority, heaads of the Housing Development Area, and mayors.

Topics discussed included cleaning areas where domestic and industrial waste is illegally collected, restoring faulty fire water pools and hydrants, and assessing the fire protection status of important enterprises, residential buildings, and places with large gatherings. Deficiencies and violations were highlighted, and relevant tasks were assigned to organizations to address these issues.

Plans for strengthening mutual activities to ensure reliable fire safety ahead of COP29 were also discussed.
