As part of the Georgia-Azerbaijan-Türkiye Trilateral Business Forum, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov met with his Georgian counterpart Mariam Kvrivishvili.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the discussions highlighted Georgia’s vital role in bolstering regional peace and connectivity. The ministers explored key areas for trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the positive momentum in bilateral trade relations.
The sides noted that since its launch in 2012, the forum has grown into an effective platform for advancing trilateral economic cooperation. The two highlighted the diversified Azerbaijan–Georgia economic partnership and the successful cooperation delivered through regional projects.
They also reviewed prospects for joint activities to further strengthen business ties, as well as priority items on the cooperation agenda in trade, energy, transport, transit, and other sectors.
The ministry highlighted that both sides emphasised the significance of strengthening cooperation in sectors such as investment, transport and logistics, tourism, agriculture, energy, and communications. Particular focus was placed on advancing the realisation of regional projects.
The Georgian delegation provided a detailed overview of transport and logistics infrastructure projects, which aim to enhance the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor and establish Georgia as a regional transport hub.
The discussion also focused on interaction between the countries in the transportation of oil and gas.
