Samaddin Asadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, met with a delegation of China, comprising representatives of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in transport and logistics between Azerbaijan and China.
Samaddin Asadov noted that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to support the Belt and Road initiative, describing the Middle Corridor as its integral part.
The Azerbaijani official briefed the Chinese delegation on the investments, which have been made into Azerbaijan’s transport infrastructure over the last 20 years. He also updated the Chinese representatives on the construction progress of the Zangezur corridor, noting that the project would contribute to diversification of the regional communications, as well as lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
