Central Bank of Azerbaijan expands co-op with National Bank of Georgia

A delegation from the National Bank of Georgia, led by Governor Natia Turnava, visited the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), Report informs, citing CBA.

Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank welcomed the NBG delegation. The meeting participants expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of cooperation between both banks on several areas and exchanged views on the expansion of cooperation in modernizing payment systems, implementing risk-based supervision, monetary reforms, applying financial technologies, financial literacy, and other areas.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the National Bank of Georgia.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to enhance cooperation in monetary policy, financial stability policy, banking supervision, payment systems, and financial technologies. The memorandum also envisions the exchange of experience and information, the organization of joint training and seminars, technical consultations, and research and study visits.

The MoU will further strengthen cooperation between the two central banks and contribute to the development of central banking and the overall financial sector in both countries.
