Total investments in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam Industrial Park surpass $125M

More than 216 million manats (over $127 million) have been invested in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam Industrial Park to date, said Seymur Adygozalov, the chairman of the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The chairman stated that currently, 25 business entities in Aghdam Industrial Park have been granted residency status, and 6 entrepreneurs have been granted non-residency status.

He added that more than 35 million manats (over $20.5 million) have been invested in the industrial park by residents, and up to 300 permanent jobs have been created:

"Over 2,000 jobs are estimated to be created in the industrial park under the current projects.”

"Meanwhile Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park currently has 10 residents and 2 non-residents. Investors are expected to invest over 83.4 million manats (over $49 million) in the park and create more than 700 jobs. So far, more than 14 million manats (over $8.23 million) have been invested in this industrial park, and more than 20 jobs have been created."

Adygozalov also pointed out that entrepreneurs show great interest in both industrial parks:

"In the first half of 2024, nine projects with a total investment value of 68 million manats (approximately $40 million) in Aghdam Industrial Park, and 6 projects with a total investment value of 42.7 million manats (over $25.1 million) in Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park were approved. At present, the EZDA is considering a number of investment projects."
