Azerbaijani trucks have successfully completed the first-ever direct cargo delivery from China to Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency under the Digital Development and Transport Ministry.

According to the agency, trucks departing from Alashankou, China, traversed the China-Kazakhstan-Russia-Azerbaijan route, reaching Baku in a mere six days.

Previously, there were no direct road transports between China and Azerbaijan. Cargo transportation primarily occurred within neighboring countries, involving loading from one country’s vehicle to another’s. However, now, Azerbaijani transporters have directly carried cargo from China for the first time.

In 2024, Azerbaijan and China exchanged “permission” forms to facilitate international cargo transportation by road. As a result, the geography of Azerbaijani carriers’ road transport for cargo has expanded, covering 51 countries.
