Three reservoirs on the Kondalanchay River have been reconstructed in the Fuzuli district of Azerbaijan within complex reclamation and irrigation measures in the country’s liberated territories, Atakishi Babayev, a specialist of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, told journalists, Report informs.

According to him, the Kondalanchay-1 reservoir with a total water volume of 3.9 million cubic meters was put into operation in 1962. Currently, several restoration measures have been carried out there.

Babayev added that the Kondalanchay-2 reservoir, commissioned in 1951, has a total water volume of 2.1 million cubic meters and a dam height of 23.35 meters. The main goal of the reconstruction is to ensure the stable operation of the dam’s structures and mechanical equipment and create conditions for further operation.

At the Ashaghy Kondalanchay reservoir, which was commissioned in 1980, with a total capacity of 9.5 million cubic meters and a dam height of 25 meters, the collapsed stone covering was restored, and a drainage system was installed.

Babayev emphasized that the reservoirs will provide water to 6,300 hectares of agricultural fields in the Fuzuli district.
