In the first two months of this year, 379.2 tons of chestnuts worth $758,000 were imported to Azerbaijan.
According to Report’s calculations based on State Statistics Committee data, this is 30.5% more than in the same period in 2023 in value terms and 34% more in quantitative terms.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 286 tons (+60%) of chestnuts from China worth $572,000 (58.4% more than a year earlier), 71.66 tons (-28%) from Georgia worth $142,800 (-27%), 21.5 tons from Türkiye (+6.3 times) for $43,000 (+72%).
In 2023, China accounted for 59% of 1,000 tons of chestnuts imported to Azerbaijan from three countries (China, Georgia and Türkiye).
