In Azerbaijan, small entrepreneurs face difficulty in finding a place, especially in large markets, and in some cases, they cannot enter there at all, Orkhan Mammadov, chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Economy Ministry, told the Supply Chain Leaders Summit, Report informs.
According to him, every macro entrepreneur operating in Azerbaijan is obliged to give local small companies a chance.
"In order to solve this problem, we, as KOBIA, buy the shelves in markets and ensure that SMEs sell their products there without paying. However, there are problems with supply issues, especially in SMEs. Large markets order goods from suppliers at a low price, and small entrepreneurs buy goods from those suppliers at a high price. Therefore, their profitability is lower compared to large markets," he said.
