Azerbaijan joins 29th Annual Government Roundtable in Athens

Orkhan Zeynalov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Energy, participated in the 29th Annual Government Roundtable organized by The Economist Impact platform in Athens, Greece.

During a panel session on regional and interregional cooperation in the energy sector, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor, highlighting the key role of Europe and Greece in energy security and the opportunities to further increase gas supplies to Europe through this corridor. He also provided updates on Azerbaijan’s ongoing projects in the energy sector, including energy transition, renewable energy initiatives, and green energy corridor projects.

Underlining the significance of the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor,” Orkhan Zeynalov noted that this and other green energy corridors will make a major contribution to ensuring Europe’s energy security.

During his visit, Orkhan Zeynalov also held meetings with Nikos Tsafos, Greek Deputy Minister of Energy; Harry Theoharis, Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dorin Junghietu, Moldovan Minister of Energy to discuss prospects for energy cooperation.
