Türkiye expanding its railway lines to Zangazur corridor

Türkiye will expand its railway network from 13,919 kilometers to 17,110 kilometers, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said in a statement, Report informs.

 

According to the information, related projects are about to be completed. Also, the road map for 2,452 kilometers of new lines has already been determined.

 

It was noted that the Kars-Igdir-Aralik-Dilucu (Zangazur) railway line is strategically important among the general projects. The length of the line will be 224 kilometers. It is planned to build five stations along the route. It is planned to transport 5.5 million passengers and 2 million tons of cargo annually on the line at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
