New agreement to guarantee Azerbaijan’s access to “Rosstandart” documents

Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Russian Federation (Rosstandart) Anton Shalaev has visited the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

 

Head of the State Service Mammad Abbasbayli spoke about the partnership projects between the two countries in the field of standardization and metrology. He underscored the importance of exchange of information on standards in the regulation of quality infrastructure.

 

The implementation of collaborative projects in the relevant field, according to Anton Shalaev, would contribute to the development of cooperative ties between the institutions.

 

The parties agreed to provide access to more than 39,000 documents stored in the Russian Federal Information Fund on Standards in order to strengthen the cooperation in the field of standardization and directly apply the new standards in Azerbaijan. They also agreed on joint activities such as launching new laboratories and improving existing ones at the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology.

 

The meeting highlighted the importance of transition to digital technologies in the relevant areas, digitalization of work processes and creation of automated information systems, as well as exchange of experience between the countries.
