Azerbaijan scored convincing win over Kazakhstan by a score of 3-1 after seven rounds in the Open section of the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2024, taking place in Budapest, Hungary, with Aydin Suleymanli and Mahammad Muradli scoring two points for their country.
Meanwhile, Nijat Abasov and Rauf Mammadov signed draws.
In Women’s section, Azerbaijan lost 1-3 to Kazakhstan, with Gulnar Mammadova and Govhar Beydullayeva concluding the matches with draws, while Ulviyya Fataliyeva and Gulnar Mammadova lost the games.
The Swiss system tournament, which will run until September 22, features 11 rounds.
