The Azerbaijan women`s chess team have claimed a silver medal at the European Team Chess Championship 2023 held in Budva, Montenegro.
On the decisive R9 round, Azerbaijan beat Serbia with a convincing score of 3-1, with Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beydullayeva and Khanim Balajayeva achieving a point each. Gunay Mammadzada concluded the match with no point.
Bulgaria claimed the title of the tournament, while France finished 3rd.
According to individual results, Gunay Mammadzada, Gulnar Mammadova and Khanim Balajayeva won the silver medals on board event with a tournament-best rating performances.
