Maka Botchorishvili, the Georgian Foreign Minister, on Friday met with Ali Kaan Orbai, the Turkish Ambassador to the country, to discuss strategic partnership and close bilateral cooperation between the countries, Agenda.ge reported.
The Ministry said the meeting also highlighted the significance of the “growing dynamics of high-level and sectoral visits”, with the parties also discussing “key matters of the bilateral and multilateral agenda” within the strategic cooperation.
The officials emphasized ongoing developments in the South Caucasus region and the role of Georgia and Turkey in promoting peace and stability in the region.
The body added the parties also discussed prospects for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, while also pointing out regional cooperation, and the importance of implementing joint projects, as well as the need to “fully utilize the transit and transport potential of the two countries”.
The Ambassador reaffirmed its support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, with both sides agreeing on the importance of “active cooperation for the successful development of Georgian-Turkish relations”.
