President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree approving the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement".

In accordance with the decree, the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement" signed on June 7 in the form of an exchange of letters was approved.

After the agreement enters into force, the President-Designate of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement will ensure the implementation of its provisions.

The decree instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to notify the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement that the necessary domestic procedures for the Agreement to enter into force have been completed.
