Azerbaijan has taken important steps in the environmental field with the expansion of the renewable energy usage and greening projects, Simon Hocquard, Director General of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), said at the World Aviation Summit in Baku, Report informs.
According to Hocquard, Baku, with its ancient history, rich culture and far-sighted policies, is the perfect place for the fight against climate change.
"Azerbaijan's commitment to sustainability reflects the collective determination to address this global crisis. Baku demonstrates the transformative potential of local action in combat against climate change on a global scale. It is a powerful message of local action and global cooperation. We all have to do our part to protect our planet. Each sector should try to reduce carbon emissions," the director general added.
