A geomagnetic storm is expected

Geomagnetic field activity increased to a G3 (strong) geomagnetic storm as predicted on December 1. Currently, the Kp index is equal to 2.

This was reported to Sonxeber.az by the Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory.

During the forecast days (04-11 December), the probability of occurrence of class C ignition is 99%, the probability of occurrence of class M (R1-R2) ignition is 40%, and the probability of occurrence of class X (R3) ignition is 5%.

An electron flood with an energy of more than 2 MeV is likely to rise from the Coronal Hole on December 04-06 under the influence of High Velocity Streams. The proton flood with energy greater than 10 MeV is expected to remain at the background level.

The speed of the solar wind is expected to increase up to 700 km/s due to the influence of the High Speed Streams from the negative polar Coronal Hole, and the additional effect of TKA is also expected.

Geomagnetic Field – A G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm is expected today due to High Velocity Streams from Taj Hole, and a G1 (weak) geomagnetic storm is expected tomorrow due to TKA.
