Dubai Police has announced plans to establish the Middle East’s first floating Smart Police Station (SPS), set to be operational by late 2026, reports a Kazinform News Agency correspondent.
This initiative, part of a AED 2 billion strategic project spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, aligns with the emirate’s vision to become the world’s smartest and happiest city.
Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Tamimi, Director of Assets and Facilities at Dubai Police, highlighted that the floating SPS is specifically designed to cater to yacht owners, boaters, and water sports enthusiasts. The station will offer 27 core services, including filing criminal and traffic reports, and 33 additional services such as lost item recovery and permit issuance. Fully automated, these services will be accessible 24/7 in six different languages, providing seamless convenience.
The station will utilize advanced artificial intelligence and robotics to optimize operations, minimize reliance on traditional service centers, and enhance efficiency. Its design includes user-friendly features to ensure quick and easy access for those arriving by boat.
This floating station marks the fourth iteration of Dubai Police’s Smart Police Station models, which also include Drive-Thru and Walk-In formats. These innovations aim to enhance security, improve the quality of life, and deliver exceptional technology-driven services to the public.
The AED 2 billion investment also encompasses specialized police training programs and housing projects aimed at improving employee well-being and fostering family stability. This holistic approach demonstrates Dubai Police’s commitment to modernizing law enforcement and supporting community welfare.
