World Bank allocates $1.5B to Ukraine

The Board of the World Bank today approved $1.5bn for Ukraine under the Development Policy Loan (DPL), the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote on X, Report informs.

The prime minister noted that $984 million come from Japan and $516 million from the UK.

He expressed his gratitude to the governments of Japan, the UK, President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga and Managing Director of Operations of WB, Anna Bjerde for their support.

"We will use these funds to cover the most important budget expenditures - for social and humanitarian goals as well as for reconstructio," Shmyhal added.
