A strike on Iraqi Kurdistan does not mean an attack on the country, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in his speech at the World Economic Forum, Report informs.

 

He said that the strike made by the Iranian army on the territory of Iraqi Kurdistan targeted Israeli intelligence and was not an attack on Iraq: "We hit the Mossad base in Iraqi Kurdistan. This does not mean that we will hit Iraq."

 

According to the minister, Iran respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraq: "There is a security agreement between Iran and Iraq, according to which the government of Iraqi Kurdistan is obliged to ensure border security. We have the right to defend ourselves."
