Azerbaijan, Ethiopia discuss prospects for judicial cooperation

Farid Ahmadov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Justice, met Saturday with his Ethiopian counterpart Tesfaye Wakjira, who is on a visit to the country.

Minister Farid Ahmadov stressed the existing cooperation between the two countries across certain domains both on bilateral level and within the international organizations. He also highlighted the digitalization and training process underway in the country’s judicial system. The Azerbaijani minister highlighted the documents on cooperation with the Ministries of Justice of 34 countries, noting the opportunities for developing legal cooperation with Ethiopia.

Describing Ethiopia’s city of Addis Ababa as Africa’s political capital, Tesfaye Wakjira expressed his country’s willingness in the judicial reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, drafting document on mutual interaction between the two countries in legal sphere, as well as learning the Azerbaijani model of delivering public services.

The meeting also saw discussions on prospects for judicial cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
