President of Turkish Supreme Court of Appeals visits Alley of Honors and Alley of Martyrs in Baku

A Turkish delegation led by Ömer Kerkez, President of Supreme Court of Appeals, visited the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs on Monday to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of modern, independent Azerbaijan, and to lay a wreath at his grave.

The delegation also placed flowers at the grave of renowned ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The guests commemorated the memories of the well-known statesman Aziz Aliyev and professor Tamerlan Aliyev, and placed flowers at their graves.

The Turkish delegation then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The delegation also visited the “Turkish Martyrdom” monument erected in memory of the heroic Turkish soldiers who died in the battles for the liberation of Baku from the Bolshevik-Armenian Dashnak troops in 1918, and put flowers at the monument.
