As many as 1,344,260 foreign citizens visited Azerbaijan in the first eight months of 2024, marking an increase of 30% year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country's State Tourism Agency.
In August alone, 245,337 tourists visited Azerbaijan, which is 23 percent more compared to the same month of last year.
Last month, Azerbaijan received the largest number of tourists from Russia (63,339 people), followed by Türkiye (34,174 people), and India (21,137 people).
During the reporting period, 17,600 tourists came from Iran, 13,500 tourists - from Saudi Arabia, 9,900 tourists - from Georgia, 9,300 tourists - from Pakistan, 9,300 tourists - from Kazakhstan, 5,400 tourists - from the UAE, 5,100 tourists - from Kuwait, 4,900 tourists - from China, and 4,600 - from Oman, 4,200 tourists - from Uzbekistan, 4,000 tourists - from Israel, and 3,400 tourists - from Ukraine.
