"Unfortunately, we have received certain signals from UEFA regarding both leagues," AFFA Secretary General Sarkhan Hajiyev told AZERTAC, commenting on match-fixing allegations in the 1st and 2nd leagues.

“Such issues are under relevant institutions` strict control. We have launched investigation together with law-enforcement authorities. Due to confidentiality constraints, we can`t disclose the clubs and suspicious games involved. Every signal is undergoing thorough examination. We urge people to refrain from such actions, as those found guilty will not go unpunished. The least severe sanction for them is lifetime suspension from football,” Hajiyev added.
