On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed issues arising from the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the current situation in the region.
The ministers hailed the fact that the historical ties of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have been further strengthened and elevated to the level of strategic partnership as a result of the mutual trust and political dialogue between the leaders of the two countries.
They emphasized that the strategic partnership between the two countries has been advanced through the efforts of the Interstate Council and the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation.
The multifaceted nature of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in various fields, including political, economic, trade, investment, transport and communications, tourism, culture, humanitarian, and other areas, was noted.
At the same time, the importance of developing relations within regional and international organizations was highlighted. In particular, broad prospects for cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the importance of intensive contacts among OTS member states to make full use of the existing potential were emphasized.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including the security situation in the Middle East.
