Azerbaijan and Yemen emphasize importance of intensifying political dialogue and diplomatic contacts

On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Shaya Mohsin Zindani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Yemen and emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic contacts.

Issues of mutual support within international platforms were also discussed. The sides noted the significance of cooperation within the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In this context, the ministers highlighted that the next summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to be held in Azerbaijan next year, will serve as an important platform for further expanding cooperation. The importance of the World Urban Forum to be held this year was also noted in terms of sharing Azerbaijan’s experience in the field of urban planning.

The discussions also focused on regional security issues, with emphasis placed on the importance of stabilizing the situation around Iran and achieving de-escalation.

The significance of efforts to restore stability and address the existing humanitarian situation in Yemen was also highlighted.

The meeting included discussions on other issues of mutual interest.
