Azerbaijani, Georgian Bar Associations ink MoU

Irakli Kandashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, visited Azerbaijan.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation was signed between the bar associations of the two countries. The document was signed by Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Bar Association, and his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kandashvili.

The MoU provides for exchange of professional expertise, methodological recommendations, and information in the legal profession, as well as the organization of joint conferences and workshops.

As part of the visit, Irakli Kandashvili also met with Kamran Aliyev and Inam Karimov.

During his meeting with Anar Baghirov, the Georgian official was briefed on the activities of the Azerbaijan Bar Association and ongoing efforts to develop the advocacy institution in the country.

Irakli Kandashvili praised the cooperation between the bar associations of the two countries, as well as collaboration among advocacy institutions, law enforcement bodies, and judicial authorities.

The visit also included trips to the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and ADA University.
