“Energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia has reached a qualitatively new level and represents a model for promising cooperation,” Serbian expert Andrej Bojić said in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.

According to him, the agreements signed in Belgrade in the presence of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić opened a completely new dimension of bilateral cooperation. The expert noted that these are Azerbaijan's largest investments in Europe, including an agreement to build a natural gas power plant near the city of Niš.

Bojić emphasized that Serbia, as a landlocked country and demonstrating high rates of economic growth, is compelled to develop pipeline connections and expand cooperation with energy supplier countries. In this context, he called the partnership with Azerbaijan a classic example of a win-win situation.

According to him, Belgrade receives guaranteed supplies of natural gas and electricity, while Baku receives a reliable and stable market. The expert also noted that Serbia's energy security is important for Europe's energy security as a whole, as the countries of the region are located in same geographical space.
