Moscow hosts Azerbaijani evening iftar on behalf of Leyla Aliyeva
An Azerbaijani evening was held in Moscow as part of the traditional cultural and charitable project "Ramadan Tent," bringing together representatives of different nations and religions.
The iftar party was hosted on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva and organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Office in Russia. Participants viewed a photo exhibition supported by the Foundation, reflecting the restoration of mosques in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
Nazim Ismayilzade, Deputy Director of the Foundation's Russia Office, greeted the participants on behalf of Leyla Aliyeva, noting that this evening has become a pleasant tradition.
Tamilla Ahmadova, Head of the Foundation's Humanitarian Programs Department, expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva for her support, adding: "Ramadan is a month of mercy, purity, and good deeds – a time when one feels a special need to help others."
Marat Arslanov, Deputy Mufti of Moscow, noted that the Foundation has been a partner of the project since its inception in 2006. Following the recitation of the adhan, guests enjoyed traditional dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine.
The evening concluded with a performance by students of the Muslim Children's School and a concert by the "Buta Trio," showcasing Azerbaijan's rich musical heritage.
This year’s "Ramadan Tent" is held under the motto "Cultural Code of the Future" and is dedicated to the "Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia." The project continues to strengthen interethnic and interfaith dialogue, featuring participants from Turkiye, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the CIS countries.
