Multiculturalism is not only a state policy but also a way of life in Azerbaijan. Different ethnic and religious groups, including Jews, Christians, and Muslims, have been coexisting together in the country throughout centuries in an atmosphere of peace and mutual understanding, said Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), during an event marking the 70th anniversary of the Conference of European Rabbis in Jerusalem.

Speaking at the panel on trust, security and peaceful coexistence, Hasanov briefed the participants on the existing rich Jewish cultural heritage in Azerbaijan, describing it as a vivid evidence of peaceful coexistence.

He also highlighted such global security challenges as xenophobia, islamophobia, and antisemitism, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts among international organizations, religious centers and states.

Other religious officials also delivered speeches.
