On September 9, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, Marijana Kujundžić.
The ambassador presented her letter of appointment to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Marijana Kujundžić on her appointment and wished her success in her work in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, discussions focused on various issues of interaction between Azerbaijan and the EU, particularly in the political, economic, energy, transport-communications, humanitarian, and other fields.
The parties emphasized the importance of the country’s joint energy projects with the EU and expressed optimism about further developing ties across other important areas.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the EU ambassador on the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period. He highlighted the importance of the agreements reached at the Washington meeting, the initialling of the peace agreement, and the decision to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Process and its related structures.
Ambassador Marijana Kujundžić noted that she will spare no effort to advance the Azerbaijan-EU agenda during her tenure.
The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
