Azerbaijan draws 1:1 with Ukraine in WC-2026 qualifier

Azerbaijan’s national football team fought to a 1:1 draw against Ukraine in a World Cup 2026 European qualifier at Tofiq Bahramov Republic Stadium. Ukraine’s Georgi Sudakov scored in the 51st minute, but Azerbaijan’s captain Emin Mahmudov equalized with a 72nd-minute penalty. The match was officiated by a Greek refereeing team.
