A delegation led by Deputy Commandant of Pakistan Navy War College, Commodore Ehsan Ahmed Khan, along with participants of the Academy's Navy Staff Course visiting Azerbaijan, toured the National Defense University, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.
“As part of the visit, the guests paid tribute at the Alley of Shehids, laying flowers at the graves of those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
At the National Defense University, Deputy Rector for Science and Rector of the Military Scientific Research Institute, Major General Arif Hasanov, welcomed the delegation and emphasized the strong friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, reflected in the cooperation between their armed forces. He expressed hope that the planned events during the visit would be beneficial and engaging for the participants.
The delegation was briefed on the history, education system, and future tasks of the National Defense University. Discussions were held on military education, and guests’ questions were answered. Commodore Ehsan Ahmed Khan also signed the Book of Honor.
The delegation then visited the Azerbaijan Military History Museum, where they learned about the country’s ancient military history, combat traditions, and historical exhibits. The visit highlighted Azerbaijan’s ongoing army development efforts initiated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued under President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
The Pakistani delegation also viewed a dedicated stand showcasing the Great Victory achieved by the Azerbaijan Army in the Second Karabakh War, as well as photographs, military uniforms, personal belongings, medals, and orders honoring Shehids. Museum staff provided additional insights and answered guests’ questions,” the ministry reported.
