Baku hosted the first consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Slovak delegation was headed by Martin Bartoň, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Representatives from both countries' foreign ministries, an official from Azerbaijan's State Migration Service, and representatives from the Slovak Embassy in Azerbaijan also attended the consultations.
The discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of consular relations between the two countries, as well as opportunities to expand the bilateral legal framework in this area.
The consultations also addressed the enhancement of cooperation to provide effective and timely consular assistance for protecting the rights and legal interests of citizens from both countries. Additionally, there was an exchange of views on the visa policies of Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
Several proposals were made regarding the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in areas such as migration, labor, social protection, and more. The parties agreed on the necessary measures to expand cooperation in these areas.
