The 8th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Commission took place in Islamabad, Report informs, referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, visited Pakistan on January 23-24.
During the visit, the fourth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Pakistan was held in Islamabad on January 23.
Elnur Mammadov led the Azerbaijani delegation, while Pakistani Deputy Foreign Minister Amna Baloch headed the Pakistani side.
The consultations featured a detailed exchange of views on cooperation in various sectors, including politics, economy, trade, agriculture, education, culture, energy, and tourism. The significance of mutual visits at various levels, including high-level visits, and their positive impact on bilateral relations was highlighted.
Discussions also touched on the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in 2024, bilateral agreements signed during this visit, and the participation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the COP29 Leaders' Summit in Baku. These events were seen as a new stage in the dynamic development of Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations, built on friendship and brotherhood.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of their relations. Mammadov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan's peace agenda, the normalization process with Armenia, reconstruction and construction work in the liberated territories and investment projects.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on international cooperation, regional issues, and other topics of mutual interest. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
During their meeting, the importance of developing strategic cooperation between the two countries, the significance of mutual high-level visits, and other matters of mutual interest were discussed.
Meanwhile, on January 24, Mammadov attended and spoke at the eighth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Commission.
