On January 15, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Pakistan's Penjab province, and Hazar Farkhadov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Islamabad, met to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations in trade, cultural exchange, and other areas.
According to Report, during the meeting, the Pakistani side emphasized their commitment to strengthening cultural and educational ties between Islamabad and Baku. Both parties agreed to work on exploring trade and investment opportunities in various sectors.
Maryam Nawaz informed about the current development projects and public welfare initiatives of the Penjab government. She noted that the recent visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan was an important step in deepening bilateral cooperation.
The chief minister highlighted the vast potential for strengthening relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture, and energy.
"We also want to leverage Azerbaijan's experience in the tourism sector," stressed Maryam Nawaz, expressing her intention to make Penjab a "hub of regional trade." She invited Azerbaijani businessmen to invest in the region, promising them special incentives.
In turn, Ambassador Farkhadov noted Baku's interest in investing in various sectors of Penjab's economy and invited Maryam Nawaz to visit Azerbaijan.
